Help Us Preserve Oswego’s Log Cabin Legacy

Our historic log cabin is more than an old building — it’s a living classroom and a powerful reminder of the grit, faith, and determination that built our community. With your help, we can preserve this important piece of Oswego’s story for today’s families and tomorrow’s students.

Every gift makes an impact — whether it’s $10 or $1,000, you are helping protect local history and expand meaningful learning experiences.

Why This Cabin Matters

The Smith-Hollingsworth-Thomas Log Cabin represents the earliest days of life in our area — when families worked hard, relied on one another, and built the foundation of what would become Oswego.

This cabin offers visitors a tangible connection to the past. Children can step inside and imagine daily pioneer life. Families can reflect on how far our community has come. Preserving the cabin ensures these experiences remain available for generations.

What Your Donation Supports

• Preservation and structural repairs

• Protection from weather and aging

• Improvements for visitor accessibility

• Educational signage and interpretive materials

• Hands-on learning opportunities for school groups and youth programs

Your generosity directly supports keeping the cabin safe, welcoming, and educational.

A Living Classroom for the Community

The log cabin is part of our mission to provide meaningful learning experiences centered on Oswego and the surrounding area’s history. It supports school field trips, homeschool exploration days, heritage programs, and community events that bring people together around shared stories.

When you give, you are not just preserving a building — you are investing in education, connection, and community pride.

Thank You for Supporting Local History

Your generosity ensures that Oswego’s stories are not forgotten. Together, we can protect the past, inspire the present, and build a stronger future.
